Then again that might be the herbs that I just vaped from the Hot Box distorting my vision lol.

Either way, there’s not really much to say about this product except that it’s made to do only one thing. And that’s to give you the highest quality vape possible without having to mess around with distractions such as temperature settings. After using the Hot Box a few times I must say that the built in simplicity is quite refreshing which makes it very enjoyable to use.

How does the Hot Box work?

I wasn’t over exaggerating about how simple this thing is. In order to get started all you need to do is literally plug the thing in! Unlike some of the other vaporizers on the market there are no temperature controls to fiddle around with. The Hot Box also comes with a wand that you’ll need to pack before you begin vaping. With this vaporizer I would recommend that you really do a good job at cutting up your herb. To get the best vape you’ll want it broken down into very fine pieces.

After you’ve cut up your herbs you simply take apart the wand and place them inside. As a word of caution please be very careful and make sure that you pay attention to how the wand comes apart. You’d be surprised at how many people break these things trying to put them back together. Well this is actually controlled by the way you take your “hit” or draw on the vaporizer. If you pull very hard and fast then you’ll tend to get a hotter vape. One the other hand if you give it a nice and slow pull you’ll end up with a cooler and less dense vape. I found that it took about 2 sessions for me to really get used to this, but after I got it down I felt like a pro! As another word of caution, when using this the vaporizer tends to get pretty hot so I would avoid trying to move or pick it up directly. I mean it is called the Hot Box for a reason. This means that before you begin vaping you should take extra care to select the ideal location so you won’t have to worry about moving.

How does the Da Buddha work?

Using this vaporizer is very simple. Once you’ve plugged the unit in you simply turn the knob to your desired heating temperature. I must say that unlike a lot of other products the Da Buddha doesn’t have the standard numbers and temperature settings. This means that you’ll pretty much have to get some experience using the vaporizer in order to figure out what you like. I personally found that around the 1 o clock mark the vapor was nice and smooth just the way I like it.

Once you’ve got your temperature set simply place your herb into the chamber which is actually located inside of the glass tube of the whip itself instead of the unit. Go ahead and plug this portion into the glass connector of the unit and then you’re ready to go. With the Da Buddha Vaporizer it really is that simple and easy to use which is why I think it would make an excellent vaporizer for someone just starting out. One thing I did want to mention though was the heating time.

Now, one thing I did notice that I wasn’t too fond of was that the Da Buddha took roughly 5 minutes to heat up. Of course this isn’t that big of a deal, it was just a bit awkward for me because I’m so used to the fast heating times on some of the more higher end vaporizers. To Da Buddha’s credit though, this extra heating time is offset by the fact that the heating system on this thing is super efficient and saved me from having to stir my herb while vaping. And I consider myself to be a bit lazy when it comes to vaporizers, so as you can probably imagine I am very happy with this.

-Beautiful design. There’s a picture of a Buddha etched right on the front. This is the perfect vaporizer to top off a peaceful and serene setting. To make things even better is that once the heating element gets hot it starts to glow which makes the whole unit look like a candle. This is a beautiful effect when the lights are off!

The only difference is that with this new version you can actually see exactly how much butane you have left through a little window on the side. When you’re ready to begin your session all you have to do is remove the mouthpiece to expose the actual chamber. For my own personal use I found that the chamber was large enough for me to fit enough herb inside for roughly 3 sessions. Once you’ve done your packing simply replace the mouthpiece and push the on/off switch down so that it turns orange. Give it another click and it ignites and begins to heat.

I should add that there’s a nifty little light on the side that lights up to indicate that the WISPR is heating. You’ll know when it’s ready to use once the light goes off. Now here’s what I really like about this product. Out of all of the portable vaporizers I’ve tried this one has one of the fastest heating times. It only took about 30 seconds for me to flip the switch and take my first puff. I must say that this is very impressive.

All of the controls you’ll need are kept conveniently in the middle of the vaporizer and this includes the LCD display. I personally found that my “sweet spot” on the Vapir NO2 was right around 370 degrees Fahrenheit. At this temperature it gave me a nice and smooth vape without any unwanted “burned herb” taste. And since the Silver Surfer uses a whip style heating system, the temp knob simply acts to control the sensitivity. The harder you pull, the hotter the unit gets.

What’s really cool about this vaporizer though is the fact that no two are exactly alike! Why? Because each glass wand is created custom made specifically for your vaporizer. I must say that this is a very cool feature to have. To my knowledge no other vaporizer incorporates this level of uniqueness. The mouthpiece on the Pax vaporizer is tucked into a little shell that prevents it from rubbing against things when you’re not using it or while it’s in your pocket. To open it all you need to do is simply push down on the top and it pops up for you to use. I should also mention that at the same time the mouthpiece opens then heater also engages and is ready to use within a minute of warming up. All you need to do is begin puffing. You just gotta love this level of simplicity!

The heating mechanism

The heating unit of the Pax Vaporizer comes with 3 settings:

Low:  370° F / 188° C

Medium: 390° F / 193° C

High: 410° F / 210° C

This is convenient because it takes the worry out of trying to figure out exactly what temperature you need to set the vaporizer to. I personally found this very appealing and I wish that I was fortunate enough to start out with something this simple back when I was new to the vaporizer scene. To switch between the settings all you need to do is pull up on the cap to remove it and then press the little button on the inside. The indicator light on the side of the Pax Vaporizer lights up a different color for each setting (Yellow, Orange and Red) which makes temperature adjustments a walk in the park. After you’re done simply replace the mouthpiece and you’re good to go.

The “oven”

On the bottom of the Pax Vaporizer is the actually chamber, or what the makers call the “oven”. What’s really cool about it is that it uses a magnet system to hold the cap in place. To open it you simply push down on one side and the other side pops up to allow you to remove the lid. Inside you’ll find a nice little compartment big enough to hold quite a few decent sized nuggets. To replace the cap all you need to do is put it back in place and the magnet system catches it and secures it with a nice “snap” that lets you know it’s fully secure.

Charging and battery use

I found that using the dock was really simple as all you need to do is turn the Pax upside down and connect it.
