2015 Portable Vaporizer Holiday Buyer’s Guide

Welcome to our Holiday Edition Portable Vaporizer Buyer’s guide for 2015!

Think of this guide as a list of all the best portable vaporizers that you should be considering this holiday season, either for yourself or as a gift.

This guide encompasses more of the traditional portables that are meant for dry herb (a few can do multiple materials though). If instead you’re looking for a pen vaporizer for your concentrates, check out our Vape Pen Buyer’s Guide for the 2015 holidays here.

These units are not numbered in any particular order. Each one is a very solid portable, so we recommend reading through all 5 descriptions, checking out our full reviews for each, and then deciding which one is best for your situation.

Let’s get into it!

1. The Crafty by Storz & Bickel (click here for the full review)

crafty vaporizer

Want the best portable vaporizer on the market? Look no further than the Crafty. It is better than all other vaporizers in terms of efficiency and accuracy, and it is made by a company with a better reputation than any other (Storz & Bickel, the same people behind the Volcano).

Just like how the Volcano is hands down the best desktop vape on the market, the Crafty vaporizer offers, in my opinion, the best vaping experience in a portable. It feels good in the hand, it’s dead simple to use, and it just does its job extremely well.

Nothing more needs to be said really.

As far as price goes, the Crafty sells for $339 at Vapor Nation (this is the best deal we’ve found). This does put it up there in terms of price, but you get what you pay for, and the Crafty is worth every penny.

*We have a promo code for Vapor Nation that allows you to save 15% on your purchase. The code is ‘MOON’ but we’re not sure if it works on the Crafty or not (certain items aren’t available for discounts). Try it out though and see if it works for you.*

Who should buy the Crafty?

Well, a better question is, why not get this vape? There really isn’t a single drawback to this vape, minus maybe the steep price.

But if you want the absolute best portable vaporizer on the market, look no further than the Crafty.

2. The Haze v3 by Haze Technologies (click here for the full review)

Haze V3 vaporizer

The Haze is truly a jack of all trades, and it is by far the best at doing it all over every other vaporizer out there. It can do concentrates, e-liquids, and herbs in multiple vaping methods.

The newest version is the V3, which was released just a few months ago, and it improved on the already solid V2 in several ways.

The best feature of this vape is the two chamber design. With this, you can have concentrates, e-liquid, or herbs loaded in any combination in these two chambers while you’re out and about, then just flip a switch and you’re vaping.

The dual-chamber design allows you to switch from 1 material to another on the fly, so you can go from dry herb to concentrates with the press of a button.

The Haze also comes with two batteries, each lasting about 3-4 sessions each, giving you a total of up to about 8 sessions. This is pretty large in the vape market, so that’s a huge plus.

The price tag on the Haze is $249.99 from VaporizerUSA.net and this is one of the better deals we have found online.

Who should buy the Haze V3?

So why get the Haze? Well, it is perfect for on the go, and great for up to 3 people. It has amazing capacity and a huge amount of versatility due to the fact that it can do dry herb, concentrates, and e-liquid.

The Haze is the only vape you should get if you want to vape multiple materials and want a unit that excels at all three. There are other portables that can do multiple materials, but they tend to lack in certain areas, unlike the Haze.

3. The Air by Arizer (click here for the full review)

Air

The Air is the Solo’s little brother, with some major benefits. The Air is thinner, lighter, heats up faster than the Solo, and is a bit more portable.

But at the same time, it also has the same simplicity and ease of use that everyone praised the Solo for.

The Air has 5 temperature settings, ranging from 356°F-410°F. This is less than the Solo, but it is far from a draw back as you still have a nice range to work with.

The Air also boasts user replaceable batteries, so your vape time is only limited to the amount of batteries you have.

As far as vapor quality goes, this is another unit that is up there with the best of them. The flavor is very clean, and there’s not a whole lot of draw resistance, so it comes out nice and smooth.

Overall, the Air is one of the best portables on the market, and you can’t go wrong with it.

The Air sells for only $239.99 at Vapor Nation, and if you use our promo code ‘MOON’ you can save 15% on your purchase.

Who should buy the Arizer Air?

The Air is for the kind of vaper who likes to sit down and have a full experience with it, because it really is a session vaporizer that’s built for the individual.

It heats up quickly, has good capacity, amazing vapor quality, and fits perfectly in the hand.

If you mostly vape in groups though, you may want to consider another portable.

4. The Pax 2 by Pax Vapor (click here for the full review)

Pax (left) and Pax 2 (right)

When the Pax came out, it blew the vaping community away. However, despite being a good vape overall, the original Pax did have a few downfalls.

With the Pax 2, they took the vape community’s feedback into consideration and fixed every problem the original had. The Pax 2 is now seriously one of the best vaporizers on the market.

The Pax 2 is 25% smaller, has a 20% bigger oven, and is 10% lighter than the original.

One of the main complaints with the original Pax was the difficulty of cleaning the mouthpiece due to the way it was designed. This is something else Pax fixed with the Pax 2, so it’s much easier to clean than the original.

The Pax 2 can hold up to a gram of herbs in it’s very hefty chamber, and it has improved battery life that lasts up to 8 sessions! The Pax 2 also has a temperature range of 360°F-420°F split between 4 settings, letting you better choose how you want to vape.

The Pax 2 is also dead simple to use, as there’s only one button, which is pushed by clicking the mouthpiece. All you have to do is click the top of the mouthpiece to turn it on, and to cycle through the temps you hold down the mouthpiece and then simply click through the temps once the light scheme changes.

Lastly, the Pax 2 is probably the most portable and stealthy unit on this list, so it’s very easy to carry and conceal in public.

When it comes to price, the Pax 2 sells for $279.99 from Pax’s official website. This is at the upper end of the portable price range, but again, you get what you pay for.

*If you use promo code ‘PAINTTHEMOON-PAX’ you will get a free mouthpiece in any color with your order. All you have to do is add both the Pax 2 and your desired mouthpiece to your cart, enter the code, and the discount will be applied.*

Who should buy the Pax 2?

If you want a vape with a huge capacity that’s dead simple to use, has great battery life, and is highly portable, get the Pax 2. You will not be disappointed.

5. The Prima by Vapir (click here for the full review)

prima

Yeah, that’s right, Vapir made a new portable, and it is amazing.

To be totally honest, this thing blew me away. The build quality and the vape experience are up there with the best portables on the market.

The Prima feels great in the hand, is super easy to use, and has pretty good battery life (after the first few charges).

The Prima has 4 temp settings, ranging from 350°F-400°F. This may seem like a small range, but it really let’s you dial in your vape experience.

Also, while after a few charges the battery life is great, it takes a few cycles until the battery life get’s to that point. So keep that in mind if you get this unit, and don’t worry if your first few uses seem a little short on battery life – it will get better.

For the price, the Prima retails for $259.99 from Vapor Nation, and if you use our promo code ‘MOON’ you will save 15% on your purchase.

Who should buy the Prima?

So, why should you get this vape? It’s a bit on the big side, but it has good capacity (up to 0.5g), and it has a really sturdy body.

Also, the vapor quality is pretty good as well.

If you’re looking for a vape that is kind of the middle ground of portables (and by that I mean it is right in the mid-range in terms of size, capacity, and battery life), yet still produces good vapor, the Prima is perfect for you.
