Arizer ArGo vs Pax 3

The vaporizer industry is currently flooded with multitude of high-end devices that are vying to be number one. There are several well-established brands that already produce high quality vaporizers and are generating large streams of revenue. Arizer and Pax are two examples of these infamous companies, and there have been several debates as to which creates a superior product. When analyzing the quality of a product, it is important to establish both the differences and similarities between competing items, as well as take an in-depth look at each unit’s specs and technology. The purpose of the following article is to allow consumers to draw their own conclusions as to which is a better buy- the Arizer Argo, or the Pax 3.

Design, Portability, Discreetness

The Arizer ArGo is very portable and concealable, as it is less than four inches in height, and it is only 2 inches in width.  It comes in only one color (black) and features a glass mouthpiece to provide flavorful vapor. The front of the unit has a digital display and it has fairly straightforward look. The Arizer ArGo is easy to conceal, whether it’s placed in a pocket or disguised in the palm of one’s hand.

The Pax 3 shares the same traits as the Arizer Argo, as it also is very stealthy and highly portable- it also sits below four inches in height and is less than 2 inches in width. However, in terms of appearance and build, the Pax 3 may appeal to users more, as it comes in several different colors, utilizes magnetic pieces and has a slightly more stylish look. Both of these units are well built and discreet, however, the Pax 3 wins in terms of appearance.

Vapor Quality & Price Point

The Arizer ArGo currently sells for $202.49 for the whole kit, while the Pax 3 lists their complete set for $249.99. The Arizer Argo is a little less than fifty dollars cheaper than Pax, however users buying at the higher end of the spectrum are usually more concerned with inhaling high quality vapor versus saving a few dollars. Luckily for customers, the Arizer ArGo manages to achieve both. The Arizer ArGo gets accolades for its hybrid heating system (meaning it uses both convection & conduction heating elements) which consistently produces amazing cloud quality. The fact that it uses an isolated airpath, and ceramic/glass pieces also aids in creating delicious, flavorful vapor.

The Pax 3, on the other hand, is advertised well. The taste of the herb is notable with the Pax 3, but with a price point of $249.99 for the full set, and $199.00 for just the vaporizer, most users will probably not be overly impressed. The Pax 3 does well in consideration to draw resistance, but the vapor quality is decent, not awe-inspiring. Therefore, if consumers are looking for a unit with the best functionality/vapor quality, they will want to select the Arizer ArGo.

Oven Capacity & Temperature Control

The Arizer ArGo can support up to 0.25 grams of marijuana in the heating chamber. The manufacturer suggests not over packing, and using smaller amounts in the range of 0.15 grams to 0.2 grams. This means that the Arizer ArGo is great for single sessions, but users desiring a larger oven capacity and that frequently share with friends may not be fully satisfied. The Pax 3 is an entirely different animal and did a nice job in regards to oven capacity; it features a full pack oven which can load up to 0.4 grams and a half pack oven up to 0.2 grams, so users can easily alternate between single and joint sessions. Therefore, speaking strictly from a specs standpoint, the Pax 3 is the victor; however, consumers must then factor in oven efficiency. The Arizer Argo tends to conserve more plant material due to its hybrid heating system versus the Pax 3, which burns through weed faster. Ultimately, it will be user preference for this selection.

As far as precision temperature control, both the Arizer ArGo and the Pax 3 allow for this option, but are different in use. The Arizer ArGo features precise temperature control with a range from 122 degrees to 428 degrees Fahrenheit, which can be directly adjusted by using the buttons on the unit and visualizing the temperature on the digital display. The Pax 3 allows users to select between four pre-set temperature choices (360, 380, 400, and 420 degrees) on the unit itself. In order to customize and get an exact temperature with the Pax 3, users will have to download the mobile app and make adjustments from there. Since both units offer the same feature, this section can be classified as a tie.

Battery Life & Accessories

The Arizer ArGo comes with an 18650 battery and will easily allow for ninety minutes of continuous usage. It is noted to provide up to about eight sessions per charge so it is fairly basic with regards to battery life. However, the battery is removable and replaceable, which means that users that are frequently on the move can simply utilize an extra battery. Anytime a battery is removable, it is definitely a plus for portability.

The Pax 3, in comparison, is loaded with a 3500 mAH battery and is slightly more powerful. This power supply allows for up to ten sessions before charging is necessary, and is impressive with regards to the size of unit. If users are not interested in purchasing an additional battery, the Pax 3 would be a better choice if strictly considering juice.

Which is the ideal device?

At the end of the day, there is no one size fits all, and users will have to determine which unit is the better fit. The Arizer ArGo will be the ideal selection for customers that want top-knotch vapor quality, superior functionality, maximum portability (due to removable battery), and instant access to precision temperature control. The Pax 3 should be selected for consumers desiring stealthiness, larger and variable oven capacity, and features that can be accessed via mobile phone app.
