Donuts by Kandypens Review

Kandypens released their “Donuts” vape pen near the beginning of September, and we recently got our hands on it to try it out.

There’s a lot of pens on the market, so whenever a new one is released, we’re skeptical as to whether it will actually deliver.

However, I was really pleasantly surprised at this little thing. It has great capacity, it’s decently efficient, and I feel KandyPens stepped it up overall with this pen.

So let’s get into what you came here for, the Donuts.

What You Get With Your KandyPens Donuts, and How to Use It

In the kit, you will receive:

  • 1 mouthpiece
  • 1 Donuts chamber
  • 1 “temperature controlled battery”
  • USB charger
  • Dabber tool
  • Instructions

Now, I put “temperature controlled battery” in quotes because it feels more like it’s voltage-controlled, only allowing so much power to the coil, but it doesn’t appear to be controlling temperature to an exact degree.

So, let’s get into how to use the Donuts:

To start, you load up your atomizer with concentrate (essentially just put your concentrate onto the Donut). Then, you screw the atomizer onto the battery and click the button 5 times.

Now, the three temperature or voltage settings are Red/Low, Green/Medium, and Blue/High.

Kandypens says these correspond to 350° F, 390° F, and 430° F, but we already went over that this is not exact. Once you decide which setting to use, you simply hold the button while you inhale and you’re good to go.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality from this pen is actually pretty good. It runs a bit cool for me personally on the two lower settings, so I just run it at it’s highest setting all the time.

Since the Donuts uses a ceramic atomizer, the vapor is really flavorful without any off putting plastic flavors that some of the cheaper atomizers have, so that’s a big plus. Your material will also last a longer time, another benefit to this pen.

I’d say it’s about on par with the ceramic donuts that SOURCE makes, but not quite as good as their quartz bowls.

Here’s a good image of their ceramic atomizer:

Battery Life

The battery life on the Donuts is about average as far as industry standards go. It’s essentially just a small variable voltage battery, so they kind of sacrificed size over battery capacity. Granted, it is supposed to be more of a stealth pen, but I think the battery life could be a bit better.

However, when it does run out, it only takes a bit over an hour to charge fully, so this makes up for the shorter battery life.

Capacity

The capacity on the Donuts is solid. It can hold up to 0.5 grams of concentrate in it’s chamber, which is higher than most other atomizers on the market.

This makes it great for groups or people who vape a lot on the go all day. The only issue is when your battery runs out, which should be after about 0.5 grams of concentrate, at which point you will need to recharge it.

Where to Buy the KandyPens Donuts?

If you’re looking to buy the Donuts, you can pick it up for $99.95 directly from KandyPens official website.

**KandyPens is actually running a promo right now where you can get the Donuts for 20% off the retail price. Use coupon code ‘NEWUSER20’ when checking out, and this will knock the price down to about $80**

Final Thoughts

The KandyPens Donuts has a high capacity, produces good quality vapor, and is very stealth and easy to carry around.

The biggest 2 knocks we have are the battery life and the price, but other than those, it’s a good pen.

Regarding the price though, they are running a promo at the moment where you can get it for 20% off, and this brings the price down to about $80. Just use coupon code ‘NEWUSER20’ when checking out to take advantage of this deal.

This puts the price of the Donuts right on par with most of the other vaporizer pens on the market.
