The JUUL is a new starter e-cig to hit the market from the makers of the Pax and Pax 2, arguably two of the best portable vaporizers of their time.
What’s unique about the JUUL, and one of the coolest features in our opinion, is that it runs off small pods that are pre-filled with e-liquid in a bunch of flavors.
This makes it easy to pop a new pod into the JUUL and start vaping, completely avoiding the mess of refilling cartridges manually.
If you’re familiar with the Pax and the Pax 2, you know that this company is all about cutting edge technology and providing a unique experience to the market, and that’s exactly what they aimed to do with the JUUL.
There are some improvements we feel could be made, but overall, the JUUL is a decent starter e-cig.

How the JUUL Works
The JUUL is extremely simple, and easier to use than a majority of pen vapes/e-cigs. All you have to do is pop the JUUL Pod in the top of the unit and inhale, and it’s ready to vape.
To get it to produce vapor, the only thing you need to do is inhale and the unit will produce vapor for as long as you keep inhaling.
The JUUL doesn’t produce a ton of vapor, but the liquid has a high nicotine content, so you don’t need a lot anyways.
For people who first start vaping, it makes the transition from smoking a lot easier.
The JUUL Pods
There are currently 5 different Pods available for the JUUL, and they come as a 4-pack for $15.99:
- Tabaac – Standard tobacco flavor
- Miint – Peppermint flavor
- Fruut – Peach, grape, and berry flavor
- Bruule – Vanilla cake, custard, and creme brulee
- Multi – 1 of each of the above
Each pod is the equivalent of one pack of cigarettes, or about 200 puffs.
Battery Life
As far as battery life goes, I feel this is an area the JUUL could improve upon. The unit runs down pretty quick, but it charges up in an hour or less, so that can help.
Personally, for the price, I think the battery life should be a lot better.

The JUUL is an alright starter, but right now it’s more looks and convenience than anything.

But if you’re just trying to quit smoking cigarettes, there are some better vape pen options at this time.
