Linx Hypnos Zero Vape Pen Review

The Linx Hypnos Zero is a really cool little concentrate vaporizer pen that has been treating me really well since I first got it.

The Hypnos Zero is featuring Linx’s new ceramic atomizer, which is my favorite ceramic atomizer that I have used so far. We’re going to talk about the atomizer later in the review however, in greater detail.

There’s a lot to go over in this review, so we’re going to break it down into the following sections so the review is easier to follow:

  • Temperature Control
  • Parts and Assembly
  • Vapor Quality and Efficiency
  • Battery Life
  • Portability
  • Accessories

Now that’s out of the way, let’s zero in on this compact little vape pen!

Temperature Control

For starters, powering on the Linx Hynos Zero is super simple just like every other e-cig type of device. Simply tap the power button 5 times rapidly to power on the unit and to also power it down.

It’s wise to power down any vaporizer like this before pocketing it so it doesn’t misfire and waste material in your pocket!

The Hypnos Zero is also sporting 4 different temperature settings. Each one offers a little different experience, whether it be more flavor or better vapor production.

The power button will glow different colors to represent which temperature level you are on. You can tap the power button 3 times to cycle through the temperature settings, which are:

  • Blue (low)
  • Green (medium low)
  • Yellow (medium high)
  • Red (high)

Parts and Assembly

Personally, my favorite part about the Linx Hypnos Zero besides it’s outstanding vapor quality is its really small and compact size.

Most vape pens are already super small and discrete, but the Hypnos Zero just steps it up another level by offering outstanding vapor quality in such a small package.

The battery is a small eGo style e-cig battery with a nice metal finish like the rest of the vaporizer.

The power button is about what you would expect – nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. It’s clicky and satisfying, what else is there to say?

The atomizer has 4 air intakes, which from my experience do a good job at not getting clogged with oil. Albeit I never load more than a small pea sized amount, so your results may vary if you are the type to load .3 or more (which is crazy, so don’t do that).

I overall like the build of the atomizer, and it’s pretty easy to clean as well. I just run a dry q-tip along the sides of the oven when the oil is still hot and viscous and this allows for easy and quick cleanup of the atomizer.

I found it easier to load stable concentrates with consistences of shatter or pull and snap; loading sappier concentrates is pretty easy since the atomizer has a metal rim around the top of it that makes it easier to load the harder to manage concentrates.

Now the mouthpiece is two parts.

The metal part of it has a small screen that will accumulate with oil over time. This can simply be soaked or scraped whenever it needs to be cleaned.

I haven’t noticed it obstructing airflow much when the vape’s actually being used, but I found the holes can sometimes be blocked when you go to use it for the first time in a few hours. The oil will solidify over the air holes impairing airflow until the hot air from the atomizer pushes it away.

And then we have the glass portion that simply threads onto the metal portion of the mouthpiece. The only thing I don’t like about the glass is the fact it gets noticeably dirty, but it doesn’t impact performance.

This does add something that can break, however Linx does include a secondary replacement glass tip if you happen to break yours.

Glass is my favorite material for mouthpieces since it is what I find the most comfortable thing to rest my lips on when vaping. That’s just a personal preference though.

Vapor Quality and Efficiency of the Linx Hypnos Zero

I was blown away when I first took a hit from the Hypnos Zero. The Ceramic atomizer does a fantastic job at effectively vaporizing your concentrates while maintaining good flavor and efficiency.

coilless

For starters, I like to use smaller amounts with the Hypnos Zero. From my testing, I found the ceramic atomizer worked the best with a small pea sized amount of about 0.1 grams.

From that pack, you can expect upwards of 10+ satisfying vapor hits.

The ceramic atomizer slowly boils your concentrate, rather than rapidly vaporizing it with a red hot coil.

The Hypnos Zero is not trying to emulate an oil rig experience in a pen form factor. Instead, the Hypnos Zero is going for a real vapor experience. It doesn’t produce stupid big clouds or anything, and that isn’t what this vape pen is trying to achieve.

Vapor production isn’t crazy because as we stated before, this pen isn’t trying to deliver dense hot vapor. The Hypnos Zero definitely produces considerable amounts of vapor, however you won’t find yourself blowing out the really dense clouds that something like a dual quartz coil will produce.

While this isn’t a vapor production machine, the Hypnos Zero will produce flavor that a dual quartz coil can’t produce. In fact, I would say any quartz coil can’t touch the flavor this ceramic atomizer produces.

There’s no burnt or harsh flavors when you vaporize your concentrates with this pen. I can actually taste the nuanced flavors of my concentrates with the ceramic atomizer.

I also find the vapor that’s produced by this atomizer to be a lot smoother than its quartz coil counterparts. The vapor isn’t scratchy on the throat at all, and I haven’t found the hit it delivers leaving my chest tight or anything afterwards.

As a connoisseur, I wouldn’t say a typical concentrate pen is something I use around the home or anything.

I typically only use them on the go as the only thing I really like them for is pure vapor production. Most of them use some kind of red hot coil that from my experience is great for producing large amounts of vapor, albeit at the cost of flavor and smoothness, which are both big factors I look at when evaluating vapor quality.

The Hypnos Zero is a different story. I’ve found myself using this when I am home as it is convenient and I find the vapor very enjoyable. It is smooth, flavorful, and efficient – what more could you want?

Battery Life on the Linx Hypnos Zero

The battery life of the Linx Hypnos Zero has been outstanding from my experience with the device. I found I got about a day’s usage from a full charge when I am just using the vape by myself.

The battery simply threads onto the 510 threaded charger like any other e-cig type of device on the market.

I found it takes about 2 hours to fully recharge your battery, depending on your power source.

Portability

The Hypnos Zero is easily the smallest vaporizer I own. This thing is super small and my top pick for discretion.

prime

Coming in at literally just over 4 inches, this little vaporizer is just a bit shorter than most other high end concentrate vaporizers.

From a portability standpoint this is great, because it makes it easier to bring on the go. It won’t weigh down your pockets, and it isn’t stupidly tall or wide like other devices on the market.

Accessories

package

When you purchase the Hypnos Zero, you will receive the following:

  • Linx Hypnos Zero battery
  • Linx Hypnos ceramic atomizer
  • Two glass mouthpieces
  • Charger

Personally, I would like to see an extra atomizer or something included with the package. This is somewhere I think Linx can improve on in the future.

Pros/Cons breakdown

To conclude our Linx Hypnos Zero review, we’re going to break down all of the main points into a short pros and cons list.

Pros

  • Outstanding flavor and smoothness
  • Efficient
  • Long battery life
  • Compact design

Cons

  • Light vapor production
  • Glass mouthpiece accumulates oil over time

Final Subjective Assessment of the Linx Hypnos Zero

I would highly recommend the Linx Hypnos Zero to a concentrate connoisseur looking for a portable solution to vaporizing their concentrates, or someone who’s looking for a smoother and lighter experience as opposed to the intense and harsh experience offered by a more powerful coil wrapped atomizer.

feature2

Not everyone is looking for big clouds when vaping concentrates, and it’s great that there’s an option like this on the market that caters to someone who isn’t trying to emulate a dab rig in a pen form factor.

I’m overall really impressed with coil-less ceramic atomizers in general, and I really look forward to seeing where the technology is going to improve with these.

But for today, the Linx Hypnos Zero is offering a great vaping experience in a small and compact form factor. Amazing flavor, great battery life, and highly portable. If that sounds like what you want out of your pen, the Hypnos Zero is for you.
