The miVape by Vaporfection is a pretty new portable to hit the market. One thing we really like about the miVape is its versatility; it can do dry herb, concentrates, and even liquids.
The miVape also has decent battery life and really good vapor quality, making it a solid portable vaporizer overall.
In this review we will cover the following:
- How the miVape works
- Vapor quality and build quality
- Battery life
- Versatility
- Best place to buy
- Final thoughts
So let’s get into it!
How the miVape Vaporizer Works
To start, you load up the little glass pods (pictured below) that the unit comes with. You can fill them with anywhere from 0.1g to 0.4g of dry material, and up to 0.2g or so of concentrates.
They also include cotton pads for liquids, so you have that as an option as well.
Just make sure you don’t over-pack, because this can lead to issues with airflow.
After that’s loaded, you slide the glass pod into the grooves in the mouthpiece and pop the mouthpiece into the top of the unit. Next, you just hold the power button to turn it on.
The temperature range on the miVape is 80°F-430°F, in 5 degree increments. Realistically, you will mostly be sticking between 350°F and 415°F.
After you set your temp, the unit heats up in about a minute and you’re ready to vape.
Vapor Quality and Build Quality
At first, I didn’t expect much from this unit. The build quality felt poor, cheap, and flimsy (because of the plastic body).
The balance of the unit feels like one entire side is hollow, making the vape feel lighter and like it’s wasting space. It’s mostly just a personal issue, because I really like a hefty weight over a feather weight, so take it with a grain of salt.
However, after using it for a while, my view has completely changed.
I’ve dropped the unit multiple times on both hard and soft surfaces, from about 5 feet or so without any issues. The plastic has held up just fine, and the unit works just as well as the day I got it.
Now for the important part, the vapor quality…
The vapor quality you can get out of this thing is AMAZING. It is one of the best vaping experiences I’ve had. The flavor is fantastic, the vapor is dense (but not overpowering), and it’s just overall a great experience.
Battery Life
The battery life on the miVape is alright, but not great. After 4 sessions, the battery is at about half charge, but after 6, the battery is done.
So, 6 sessions, while pretty good, could be a lot better for how big this unit is.
Versatility
Because the miVape unit can do three different types of vaping, it is extremely versatile as far as portable vaporizers go. Most can do one, maybe two different forms of vaping, and while multiple modes are becoming more common, it is still uncommon to find a vape that can do all three.
However, it has a price tag to match.
Is it Worth it/Final Thoughts
While this is a great unit, to me, the asking price is a bit steep. $259 is a lot to drop on any portable vaporizer, and the ones that cost that much feel much higher quality than the miVape.
My biggest knock is that the unit itself feels a bit cheap. If they simply made the body out of aluminum instead of plastic, I would go out today and buy one, no question. But with the plastic body, I personally just can’t justify that kind of price tag.
Even with that being said, it has held up to my numerous drops, so it’s not that durability is an issue. It’s just more of a personal preference, since I like a “sturdier” feeling vape.
On the positive side though, the vapor quality is amazing, and it does have the ability to do 3 different materials making it highly versatile. So if you’re okay with the plastic body and don’t mind spending the $259, feel free to pick one up and you will certainly enjoy it.
