SOURCE Ghost Vaporizer Review

The SOURCE Ghost is a portable vaporizer that can vape both dry herbs and concentrates. It isn’t pen size, but it’s not too big either, making it very portable.

This unit vapes your herbs evenly, and vaporizes concentrates pretty efficiently as well. Overall, it is a really solid vape, and super simple to use. Let’s get to how this vape works.

How the SOURCE Ghost Works

The Ghost is dead simple to use. You start off by loading the chamber, which is as simple as taking off the mouth piece and loading the tube (for herbs). This is a conduction style vape, so a tighter pack is better. You don’t want it too tight, because it will impede airflow, but you also don’t want it to be not packed at all, because your herbs will not vape as well.

If you are vaping concentrates, the only difference is that you place the concentrate cartridge into the chamber and load your concentrate directly into the cartridge.

Once you load your herbs or concentrates, just replace your mouth piece and turn the unit on. To do so, simply click the only button on the device three times. The LED light will turn blue, and the chamber will begin to heat. Once the light turns a solid blue, You’re ready to vape.

There are three temperature settings:

  • Blue: 190º C (374º F)
  • Green: 210º C (410º F)
  • Red: 230º C (446º F)

To switch between these settings, all you have to do is hold the button until the LED light changes color.Blue and green are best for herbs, and red is best for concentrates.

This picture below is all that comes with the unit. It comes with:

  • SOURCE Ghost Multi-Function Dry Herb Vaporizer
  • Concentrate Heating Cup
  • Packing Tool
  • Cleaning Brush
  • Tweezer
  • USB Charging Cable
  • User Manual

Depending on your heat settings, the battery will last anywhere from 3-6 sessions. Because the battery works so hard to keep the unit hot, you will get less sessions the hotter you vape. Just experiment with it and find what works for you.

The vapor quality out of this thing is better than any convection vape I’ve tried. On the green setting, the vapor gets a bit warm, but it isn’t too bad. On the red setting (with concentrates), the vapor actually isn’t even all that hot, just warm and smooth.

The only real downside of this unit is that it automatically shuts off after 2 minutes of use. This feature is to keep the unit from over heating, but it gets slightly annoying to have to turn your unit back on in the middle of a session. But you get used to it pretty quickly.

Hey, I finally figured out how to use this and it really is great for vaping herb. The concentrate experience is underwhelming but for herb it’s better than the pax.

  2. Danielle says:

I want one..but in color purple!

  3. Michelle says:

Has anyone had the awful experience of not being able to remove the concentrate cup? I can’t get it out to vape herb and I’m so disappointed. I just got it. Help

    • Jake says:

Have you tried using the tweezers provided with the unit? That’s what I used and it worked great. Worst case scenario, you can vape herbs with the concentrate cart in, it’ll just be a smaller chamber and take a bit longer to fully heat.

      • michelle says:

Thanks. I finally got it out with a pointy knife. Not crazy about it for concentrates. It’s so-so overall.

  4. G Strader says:

There is little need for the restictive white filter. To help contain the smell of a partially used load you can put the packing tool in the mp upside down for a perfect fit. My main complaint is how easy the mp comes off. I bought if for 50 bucks on Black Friday, and the cust svc has been great from Source. I am awaiting unit number 3 via warranty. I know it is a cheap Chinese vape, but I love the low temps.

    • Jake says:

Thanks for the review! Sorry you’re on your third one, but for $50 that’s a steal!

  5. Jess says:

What would you recommend if I was looking to use a vaporizer for herb, but was only looking to use it as a hitter? I currently have the pax2 which recommends the full chamber be used in a session. The problem I am having is that a session for me consists of one pull. Any recommendations on what would work best for me would be great.

    • Jake says:

The SOURCE Ghost is a good option, as the chamber is pretty small. Something like the MFLB or the Firefly would also be good, as those you control by pressing in the battery (MFLB) or the heat button (FF). Hope this helps you out!

  6. Jeff says:

If size isn’t an issue, would you say this is a better vape than the V2 Pro Series 3 in terms of quality?

    • Jake says:

I would say the Ghost vapes herb better, but the Series 3 is about half the width and about an inch shorter. If you want to do concentrates or e-liquids as well, go with the Series 3. If it’s just for herb, go for the Ghost. It vapes better and has better battery life.

  7. Al says:

Have done fairly good research on Vaporizers. However still don’t know which is best: Convection or Conduction. Have been lead to believe that convection is healthier. What is your opinion on this? Do you know of any web sites that explain the differences?
I’m still looking for a pen or portable that can do flower, concentrates, and oil.
Guess some company will eventually come out with the perfect vaporizer, without spending $200 or more.

  8. Patrik says:

How does it compare to the Kvape? I have a Kvape and only used it about 10 ten times, and already the plastic mouthpiece has broken (cracked) from the heat.

    • Jake says:

I would definitely say it’s higher quality than the kvape, especially since they got a new mouth piece for the Ghost.

  9. bryan says:

source ghost is awesome. the new version hits much better than the last one i had.

    • Jake says:

Glad the Ghost is workin for you! I like the new mouthpiece way more
