The R2 Series pen gets you excited from the jump with the tag line “THIS THING RIPS” all over the box. It’s highlighter design and marketing screams at you with it’s bright neon colors that send waves to your brain telling you to take it home immediately. At it’s affordable price tag of 49.99 you’d almost have to be out of your mind to not buy it right? The R2 is a concentrate only vaporizer that has a cool neon green plastic transparent window surrounding the heating chamber heated by a strong single wrap ceramic coil.

Design
Similar to the design of most concentrate only vape pens, the R2 looks like any other dab pen with a few tweaks in appearance. It has a ceramic single coil oven/chamber underneath the mouthpiece, and a single button on the face of it’s 650mAh battery that’s designed like a hashtag that lights up. The pen is all black and has the R2 highlighted in Highlighter green with a highlighter green transparent plastic piece that surrounds the oven/chamber to make it visible so that you can easily see when the concentrate is finished and ready to be re-packed. The R2 is also ideally portable and can be concealed easily in a pocket or purse. Also, the R2 comes with a top so when visible with the top on it almost looks like an actual writing pen. SToK also includes an extremely convenient non-stick wax container that has ridges on the lid to keep it from opening up easy in your pocket or purse while carrying product.
Vapor Quality
Being that the R2 isn’t a controlled temperature device the user is unable to enjoy a personal preference on Vapor Quality and SToK forces you to “Rip It” how they intended. The be honest the vapor quality to be was nothing special and like it’s design the vapor quality could easily be compared to the other common standard style wax pens on the market.
Battery Life
The SToK R2 uses a 650mah EGO battery like most other units on the market. It’s battery will last based on usage of the device. Occasional usage might have the battery last a couple days and continuous usage might kill the battery in a couple hours. The charger it comes with is pretty cheap however on a positive note about it is it’s a normal 510 thread e-cigarette battery and any 510 thread charger will work if provided charger gets lost or broken.
Ease of Use
The R2 is simple to use, to power on the device you need to press the hashtag button on the face of the device five times rapidly. Unscrew the mouthpiece and place wax in the chamber/oven. Screw the mouthpiece back on begin to draw from the unit and enjoy! The see through neon transparent part of the mouthpiece allows you to see directly into the oven so you can get an idea on when you need to repack wax.
Final Thoughts
All in all it’s a good wax pen however I think that SToK played it safe by making a product that is similar to a lot of other wax pens on the market. It’s fair for the price of $49.99 you definitely wouldn’t be disappointed but if you spent a little more on a better pen you might also be happier.
