Design
The Yocan (R) Evolve has a unique twist on the typical design of most dab pens. It has a 650 mAh 510 thread battery like most dab pens on the market. The Yocan (R) Evolve has a dual quartz coil atomizer that is hidden by a screw on shield cap that doubles as the mouthpiece. The Yocan (R) Evolve atomizer has a special tip on the end with holes to release vapor on the sides, it is designed to prevent splash back from the concentrates.
How To Use
To load the Yocan (R) Evolve simply unscrew the shield cap mouthpiece to reveal the atomizer chamber. Then unscrew the atomizer cap and load your concentrate into the chamber. It is a pretty deep chamber for the size of the unit however don’t overload it. Once you have loaded the concentrate into your atomizer chamber screw the cap back on followed by screwing the shield mouthpiece cap back on. To turn on the Yocan (R) Evolve press the power button 5 times rapidly. Press and hold the power button to start drawing from the device, the first 4 seconds the device will heat up at 4.2V, then it will decrease to 3.2V for 6 seconds for a total heat time of 10 seconds. After the 10 seconds the Yocan (R) Evolve will activate the chamber automatic cool off. To power off the Yocan (R) Evolve it’s the same as powering it on simply press the power button 5 times rapidly until you see it blink 3 times.
Vapor Quality
The Yocan (R) Evolve has great vapor quality for it’s price and class. The settings the has the device come in at 4.2V for the first 4 seconds gives a boost for a big hit and then decreases to 3.2V for the last 6 seconds of every hit to keep flavor and help make the hit smoother. Rich, Dense and tasty vapor achieved in every session, the Dual Quartz coils does the job with this device and it works better with the Yocan (R) Evolve than it does with most dab pens like the SToK R2.
Battery Life
The Yocan (R) Evolve uses a 650 mAh 510 Thread Battery that can last on average 4-5 hours of use or 350-450 hits depending on how long you draw from the device while using it. It takes about 2 to 2 1/2 hours to charge the battery from dead to full charge.
Final Thoughts
The Yocan (R) Evolve is a good buy for the price, it’s durable, discreet, portable, and has good vapor quality. If I had to say anything negative about the Yocan (R) Evolve, I would have to say it could use a better charging port like a micro USB or something of that nature because it is annoying to have to unscrew everything just to charge the unit. Also, the Yocan (R) Evolve would’ve been a better device if it had multiple voltage options like other pens on the market. All in all though for the price it is a very good option that you can easily be happy with.
